Last week during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show the streets were turned into a spectacularly vibrant catwalk show for couture designer to the royals, Catherine Walker’s annual flower walk. @Catwalkerco designed Princess Diana’s infamous ‘Elvis’ dress so I was thrilled to be a part of the show! The models and I strutted from Sydney Street to King’s Road stopping traffic and bringing colour to the affluent SW3 postcode.
Dresses were styled with oversized sculptural headresses and fluffy umbrellas to showcase the skill of Hayford & Rhodes florists too; Catherine Walker’s seamstresses combined with Mother Nature’s finest for a full on #ChelseaInBloom.
Hayford & Rhodes have been the hallmark of luxurious flowers for nearly 100 years, delivering bespoke British flowers. This is their first year with Catherine Walker alongside creative London based brand Paperself, who have previously worked with Alexander McQueen ( Yasss!) and count @Badgalriri as fans.
@Paperself added a touch of fun and fantasy to our make-up of bold matte eyes and lips, unicorn shimmer (yep issa lewk!) and plenty of temporary tattoos. Here’s the deets on my look curated by @KompanietsAnna.
Crowds were also wowed by spontaneous Opera singing from Mezzo Soprano singer, Phoebe Haines at several locations including Duke of York Square and Chelsea Town Hall. It was a pretty fun day and (thankfully) the sun was out all afternoon. By the time I got home the show had made it ‘The Daily Wail’ with fab pictures of several models who were first to be photograped earlier in the day- http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5762265/Royal-clothes-designer-florist-unite-aid-Chelsea-Flower-Show.html
It was pure flower power this year- make sure to follow @Catwalkerco and @KompanietsAnna to catch the show next year!
